If this is your first time learning about bitcoin and you are unsure whether or not you want to trade some of your cash for a small amount of BTC, then no worries! On this page, I will share a few examples where you can earn a small amount of bitcoin for free.
The first fractional amounts of bitcoin that I’ve ever acquired came from free faucets. FreeBitco.in is one of, if not the oldest faucet currently in existence. The idea of a faucet is simple: a user clicks a button and a small amount of bitcoin is added to that user’s account on the platform. Once a certain threshold is reached, then the user can withdraw those coins to his or her wallet. FreeBitco.in allows users to claim from the faucet once per hour. The amount of bitcoin acquired from each faucet claim is determined by rolling a random number between 0 and 10,000.
The payout amounts shown above change as the market price of bitcoin rises and falls. The top award for rolling 10,000 exactly is $200 equivalent in BTC. Most of the time, you will be earning just a couple of sats with each attempt. The best I’ve done was hitting the third highest prize (roll of 9994-9997).
In addition to the faucet, FreeBitco.in also acts as a mini casino, complete with a hi-lo game, sports betting, and a lottery. All of these and other promotions on the site are completely optional. In addition, users earn reward points as they claim their free faucet rewards, which can be redeemed for additional prizes.
Minimum withdrawal amount is 30,000 sats (0.0003 BTC). Account balances above this amount will earn interest at an annual rate of 4.08%, compounded daily. You are also able to deposit into your account, if you so desire.
I can confirm that withdrawals from FreeBitco.in do go through successfully, which is the most important thing when using a faucet service. Click here to go check out the site.
TIP.CC DISCORD BOT FAUCET
If you are a frequent Discord user, especially if you tend to hang out at various cryptocurrency servers, you may have come across the tip.cc tip bot. This Discord bot allows users in a server to send bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies between each other in various ways. One feature of this bot is a built-in faucet. To access it, type the command “$faucet btc” in any server channel that has the bot, or you can send a DM to the bot without the prefix ($). You will then be prompted to click on a link to TOP.GG to vote for the bot.
You will have to log in to TOP.GG with your Discord credentials if it’s your first time. After clicking on the “vote” button, you will receive a DM from tip.cc notifying you of your reward, which is added to your account.
The amount received tends to range between $0.002 and $0.01 worth of BTC. You can claim from the faucet once every 12 hours. Sometimes when attempting to claim, you receive a notification stating that the faucet is empty. In that case, you can try the faucet command with a different cryptocurrency, for example “$faucet ltc” or “$faucet eth”.
CLUBMIKEV DISCORD SERVER PROMOTIONS
One final example of where you can obtain some free BTC is the ClubMikeV Discord server. Roughly once per week or every other week, I will use the tip.cc bot to do an airdrop. Participating in it is as simple as clicking the “enter airdrop” button before it expires, once you see it. The amount of BTC that is airdropped is divided equally among the members that clicked the button. Amounts that I drop will vary. The more people that enter the previous airdrop, the more that I will put up for grabs in a future airdrop!
